A clear day in winter can be spectacular. The sun is almost always low, giving amazingly harsh light, and producing long dramatic shadows. It is a reminder of wamer times gone and to come again.
Antoine loves 'big holes', this was the start of the days 'big hole' shenanigans!
We live close to the Eiffel tower, and from this angle, the light is pretty much pointing the way home for me. I see this every night when I cycle home from work, and it is a scene that always makes me smile, especially on a Friday! 'I'm nearly home'!
We are expecting our second child this year, and this really makes me smile.
Our son Antoine can be very pensive at times, this was one of them... I think it was compounded by 'Papa' dashing for his camera mid porridge!
I was in a busy meeting all day, and I found this view from the window oddly calming. I like the repetition of the pots, the curves and lines. I found it an interesting scene which made me smile amongst the chaos of the day!
Week two, and the theme is things that make/made me smile. This can be a little retrospective, as i might not have my camera read to take a picture of something that spontaiously makes me happy. Lets see how it goes... :)
This week, I have set a theme of skies. It is an easy one to do to start with, since you can almost always see the sky!
Since leaving India, and returning to Paris, I have struggled creatively with my photography. To kick my arse back into gear I decided to undertake a project I have done once before. That is to take a photo, everyday, for a year.
And a new year is a great time to do it. It will force me to find the beauty in the mundane, experiment with new techniques, and rediscover old ones.
2018 will be an eventful year for us. We are expecting our second child, and I am looking forward to documenting the transition.
I hope you enjoy it, and please leave comments.
