Gokarna, more than just beaches

Gokarna is a historic Hindu pilgrimage site. Gokarna actually means Cow's Ear. It is believed that Lord Shiva emerged from the ear of a cow (Prithvi, the Mother Earth) here. It is at the ear-shaped confluence of two rivers Gangavali and Aghanashini. [wiki]
But this isn't a story about that, this is a story about the back streets away from the beach. The maze of busy and quiet streets, with lots of people sat on the their front steps stoop watching the world pass by!

Travel - Kerala back-waters

The southern Indian costal state of Kerala is known as "gods own country", and when you visit, the lush and vibrant landscape reflects this. The back-waters of Kerala are a series of brackish lagoons inland from the Arabian see. This wetland paradise is great for birding, as i discovered when i visited, and you can also spot other creatures too! :) Here are a selection of my pictures for you! :)

Back in 2011, I spent a very brief 40 hours in Istanbul...  with such little time, it was a rather manic trip, but in such a fantastic and vibrant city, it was difficult not to produce some memorable images. This was towards the beginning of my photographic journey, but i always like to go back and re-asses my images. Where I started, what would I have done different now, and what can i learn from them.
