Taking pictures is only the beginning of your images story...  the rest depends on you, and who sees it. I spent a long time looking for the best place to display my images, somewhere that is well organised and makes my images look good (unlike Facebook). This is where JungleDragon came in, and I must say, it is my go-to place for sharing all my wildlife images. You should all check it out! :)

So I have previously posted a video on how I manage my cards (and batteries), and I have also written a post about my back-up/storage workflow, so now I am going to bridge the two and why it is better to FORMAT your memory cards, over deleting the pictures!

When I head out into the jungle, there is no guarantee that I will see something new (less and less likely the more I go in fact), so I am constantly trying to get the best image I can of commonly sighted subjects.

I led the first of my series of "Weekend Warrior" workshops this weekend taking some really great young photographers away for the weekend, leaving Bangalore early on Saturday and returning on Sunday afternoon... Sloth bears (yes plural), being one of the highlights of this trip!

When out shooting wildlife, I have a general looping thought process for taking images, so that I am always ready for a surprise appearance, and can then make the most of each chance!

I am frequently asked, “How did you get that shot?” to which I answer vaguely “time”. However, there are some very particular steps I go through in order to get my shots, and I am going to share them with you using a recent picture as an example.

It does not matter how good your camera is, or how much your lens costs, because without batteries and memory cards, they are worthless!

I came across Andries on JungleDragon (a wildlife community website). Not only does he have some fantastic images, but some jaw-dropping wildlife stories from his time working in the wilds of Namibia! 

Shooting in low light conditions is tough enough, so how can we shoot in dark? Well...  bring you own light..  Any light!

"What lens should I get next?" is a common question I am asked and it is not a simple answer. But one little trick i use to help me decide which lens i should buy next is to examine my current lens/focal length usage. By looking at this information you can see if you need a direct lens upgrade, or to go longer/wider...  I hope this video helps! :)
