The eyes are key to a good portrait.

Some advice I picked up during the last 4 years documenting Indian wildlife.

"The safe delivery of the right quality of water, at the right quantity, at the right place, is the need of the hour. That can only be done with proper water management"

Last weekend I was at the Nature InFocus nature and wildlife photography festival in Bangalore. It was a great event, made even better for me as my black panther image was a finalist for Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2016 competition (wild-scape category). Alas, I did not win, but it was still an honour! :)

It was an awesome conference, with so many great talks and great opportunities for starting more collaborations. Thanks to everyone I met for the great time! :)

In extra time (it was 0:0 at full time), Portugal striker Eder hits home a magnificent goal in extra time, which result in them being the winners, and France settling for second place.

Was shooting the France vs Germany Euro 2016 semi-final for the French Consulate in Bangalore...  it was a blast! The final is tonight, and I'll be shooting that too!

Last night was the leaving event for German Consul General Jörn Rohde (soon to be Ambassador in Sri Lanka). For his parting gift from the German consulate, he was presented a large print of my image! 

I've just returned from a trip to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve with Ashish Parmer. We had the great opportunity to get up-close and personal with a sub-adult cub, while she went adventuring away from her mother and siblings.

There are always those dream sightings and pictures you want...  well I managed to tick another one of my rather large list, and it is an excellent one too...  the black panther!

They have used it before, and it is making another appearance in the current issue of Wild Planet Magazine. A nice double page spread of my temple leopard pic...  I guess I should send them more material! :)

Wilpattu National Park (Willu-pattu; Land of Lakes) is a park located on the island of Sri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the existence of "Willus" (Natural lakes) - Natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater. Located in the Northwest coast lowland dry zone of Sri Lanka. The park is located 30 km west Anuradhapura and located 26 km north of Puttalam (approximately 180 km north of Colombo). The park is 131, 693 hectares and ranges from 0 to 152 meters above sea level. Nearly sixty lakes (Willu) and tanks are found spread throughout Wilpattu. Wilpattu is the largest and one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world-renowned for its leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population.
